The days are getting shorter and temperatures are dropping. Harsh winter is coming and it can do a number on your car's paint so it's important to prepare your vehicle for winter. Just like the mechanical maintenance aspects of your vehicle such as changing oil. The paint system needs maintenance as well. Although your paint might look solid, it's actually quite porous and absorbs moisture that can accelerate surface rust on your vehicle if not properly protected. Applying a quality paint sealant to your vehicle in the fall creates a barrier between your vehicle's paint and the winter elements (road salt, sand, slush, dirt, etc.) that can overtime inflict paint damage (if left untreated).  A paint sealant for protection is preferred over a wax application as paint sealants in general have a synthetic make-up that bonds to the paint on a molecular level, while a “wax” has organic components to it that only lays on top of the surface therefore does not equal the longevity and protection as sealants.
