Pretty hard to miss the leaves changing to their fall colors and covering our lawns and vehicles. With the fall and soon to be winter weather, we have some important things to remember to get our vehicles ready for winter.
- Most of us have used a summer windshield washer fluid that helps clearing the bugs off the glass. Fantastic stuff, however, it will freeze when the temperature drops. Flushing the system out and replacing with winter grade fluid will prevent damage to the system and ensure we can see.
- Tires that were adequate during summer driving, may not have enough traction to keep you safe on snow and ice.
- “Cabin or “Pollen” filters installed in many vehicles have filled with dust through the summer. If they are plugged, they will slow the defrost and heating systems.
- Battery should be checked to prevent problems, if yours is older than 4 years, we recommend you consider replacement as a maintenance item.
5. If you drive less than 5,000 Km / year. This is a good time to do your annual service and inspection. Even most “Maintenance Minder” systems require Annual service
