I recently planted some trees.  I chose to plant spruce trees because they are drought-resistant.  The needles do not lose as much moisture as broadleaf trees.  The trees are doing quite well.  Even with an early spring with a lack of moisture, the trees are still alive.  I've put very little maintenance into these trees and they are thriving.  How can I be like a tree?

Certain trees can flourish in almost any climatic change.  They don't require special conditions to grow.  Sometimes, it can be easy to think that certain environmental surroundings have to be right in order for us to do well.  “If only it can been a different situation, I would have succeeded.”  While the circumstances that envelope our daily lives certainly are important, they do not have to determine destiny.

Like my tree with deep roots, it is possible to pass the dry seasons and continue to thrive.

FIVE WAYS TO BE A LIKE A TREE

  1. Yes, you are complex; but, you don't have to be complicated.

  2. You are not perfect; but, you can still have poise. (strength under pressure)

  3. Life brings chaos; but you can keep your calm.

  4. High stress is no excuse for high drama.

  5. Be fortified in yourself for the fight. (extra nutrients for the drought)

Jeremiah 17:8

“…As a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful (worried) in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”
