Last month, I talked about what can be stuck to the exterior of your vehicle (Like tree sap or tar) and how our process can restore your vehicles appearance – beginning with our Clay Bar Process.
This week, we had a client that brought in his beautiful shortbox ¾ ton pickup. Used on the farm, the odd time a slip tank is thrown in the back and, sure enough, a bit of spillage occurs and whips around a tiny bit of fuel. When this gets onto the clearcoat of the truck without any protection such as a recent wax, the clearcoat can become 'etched'.
In order to correct this, a multi-stage power polish program is required. Starting with a clay bar to remove the impurities stuck to the clear, a fairly heavy cut-polish is required to get past the problem that was caused by the fuel. From there, our various stage polish followed by our final wax is required to restore this to 'like new' condition.
