NEWS FLASH!

The Add 4” to your measurement bra rule doesn't work.  It's true, the rule we have all been buying our bras by for the last 60 years is a huge failure.  I'm going to let you in on the industry secret that will do one of two things.  Either it will make everyone so good at bra fitting they can all work for me and we can setup PrimaDeanna locations worldwide, or nobody will need fittings and I go out of business.  I'm a gambler, so here goes.

The reason it doesn't work is because it assumes that the bra maker has subtracted that amount from the ribcage measurement in making the bra.  Some manufactures do, some don't.  If they don't you end up in a bra that is HUGE on you, and the underwire can move hither and fro on your body abrading your skin like a cheap pair of shoes.

The band of a bra needs to be snug, think skinny jeans snug.  You want that band to stay put, not move, all day.  Period. That's the secret to a comfortable underwire.  Well that and a wire big enough to fit the breast!  Most common problem is band too big, cup too small, with wires sitting on the breast itself.  Ouch!!

So double check the reference chart and see how your bra size relates to your clothing size.  If you are wearing a band size too big, time for a fitting and you might be surprized how much difference it will make to your figure, and your comfort!
