Back to School! As a child I dreaded hearing those words, summer was over and instead of playing with my friends all-day-every-day I had to sit in a classroom with them all-day-every-day and we could only play during recess or after school. As a parent I learned to look forward to it, more so than my kids. Now that they are grown up and I no longer have to worry about school I learned to apply the 'back to school' mentality to a few different things at this time of year to prepare for the coming seasonal changes.

I recommend getting familiar with your owner's manual for vehicular Back to School. Read it, and remember what kind of driving you do, not the kind you want to do. As I have mentioned before, Saskatchewan definitely falls under SEVERE DRIVING CONDITIONS. Those words change your oil change intervals, your air filter service dates, your transmission flush requirements, etc. Those changes can also affect your warranty coverage. Your manual and your car's computer may also disagree on some issues but your manufacturer recommends the manual over the computer.

Also, check out the specs on your tires, which a quick internet search can bring up. The weather can change rapidly, causing the air in your tires to increase or decrease in pressure. If there are cracks or an object piercing the rubber air pressure changes can intensify or cause some small leaks. Tread depth and grip are extremely important in the winter, so checking to see if the tires will help or hinder your winter driving is vital (if you have dedicated winter tires, good for you! Please give them a once over as well).

Sometimes September can feel overwhelming; there's a lot to do to make sure the next ten months go smoothly. The Lubrication Station can help a bit by checking your vehicle for the upcoming winter. We would be glad to help! Unfortunately, we can't get the school supplies for you but if you do find that you've bought a few too many pens we seem to lose them faster than we can get an air filter out of a 1985 Ford Crown Victoria (which is fast).
