Light up your life, and lift your mood!

Many people truly suffer from the winter blues. The clinical term for this is seasonal affectiveness disorder or S.A.D. The negative feelings or lack of feelings either happy or otherwise is often attributed to the decrease in natural light exposure. This feeling can be corrected with the use of a S.A.D. light. This “Special” light works by traveling through the eye near the optic nerve to the pineal gland inside the brain. This gland is responsible for the release of the “feel good” hormone serotonin. The increase in serotonin then lifts your mood and often increases energy levels, allowing for a

better outlook on your day. Let's face it, with Christmas shopping on the horizon what person couldn't use a lift.

By incorporating the light into your daily routine such as where you read the morning news, or finish your homework it will give the maximum exposure without a great deal of work.

Add a little sunshine to your life this fall/winter season. There are many different brands, sizes and price ranges to choose from, available at Millerdale Pharmacy.
