Things You Don't Need

As the summer is upon us, there are many families who plan to travel for vacations.  When packing the vehicle with suitcases and coolers, it can be easy to pack things that aren't needed for the trip.  Extra stuff that takes up precious space may not be helpful.

As we make the journey through life, there may be extra stuff in your trunk that is not needed for the trip. It takes up space in a busy life and clutters the mind.  Here are four things you probably don't need.

Misinterpretation:  It is easy to misinterpret what someone says.  It's common for us to take what people say personally.  Not everything is a personal attack.  Sometimes they are just having a bad day.

Over generalization: “Nobody ever wants go out with me,” when only person said no.  “This always happens to me.”  “This is the story of my life.”  It's probably not.

Obligation: “Do I have to?”  Instead of viewing things as obligations, they could be viewed as privileges:  “I get to do this!”

Disqualification: When someone pays you a compliment, you may be tempted to disqualify yourself:  “Naw, they didn't mean it.”  “I'm too old.”  “I'm too young.”  Instead if self-disqualification, try self-qualification:  “I have a shot at this!”

When we relieve ourselves of these burdens the journey is much more enjoyable!

“Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”  Hebrews 12:1

Natural alternatives to cortisone injections for musculoskeletal problems

Chronic pain can be quite devastating. It can affect activities of daily living, it can lead to sleep deprivation and even depression. Current treatment approaches target inflammation and pain but not tissue repair. Because ligaments, tendons and cartilage have very poor blood blow, tissue repair can be extremely slow and difficult.

In naturopathic medicine, there are 4 different injection therapies that can be performed in order to stimulate tissue repair and achieve a pain free state. The advantage of injecting the remedies in or around the affected tissue is to have an immediate local effect and bypass the digestive system. When you swallow a pill for knee pain, for example, your stomach has to break it down, then the intestine has to absorb it, then it gets metabolized and then dispersed throughout the body. Consequently, only a small portion of the remedy will reach the knee. On the other hand, when a remedy is injected in the area of the problem, its effect can sometimes be immediate and most of the remedy will be utilized.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy was developed in the 1950s for the treatment of sports injuries. It involves injecting a small amount of vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts just under the skin

In order for the remedies to have a rapid local effect on the affected joint. The procedure is very well tolerated and the benefits can be felt within a few minutes. Any type of musculoskeletal problem can benefit from mesotherapy.

Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy is also known as proliferative injection therapy and it is used to repair and strengthen tendons and ligaments. The main ingredients used for this treatment procedure are procaine, which is a mild local anesthetic, and dextrose, which is basically sugar water. Practitioners might add a few other ingredients, like vitamin B12 for example, in order to increase the therapeutic benefits. During this procedure, the substances are injected where the ligaments and tendons attach on the bone in order to stimulate tissue growth and repair.

Prolozone

Prolozone differs from prolotherapy in that there is less dextrose and procaine used and more vitamins and minerals in the injected solution. The practitioner also injects a small amount of ozone, which is a gas made from pure oxygen that has been exposed to an electrical current. Ozone has been used in medicine since 1911 to treat infections of various kinds. When injected into a tissue, it also helps repair by increasing oxygen utilization, decreasing inflammation and improving circulation.

Platelet rich plasma

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy involves taking a blood sample from the patient, spinning it in a special centrifuge that allows for the platelets to be separated from the red blood cells and serum and then re-injecting the platelets into the affected joint. Platelets contain growth factors and some stem cells and help regenerate tissues such as ligaments, tendons and cartilage. This effective treatment procedure has allowed many patients to avoid or postpone joint replacement surgeries.

Conclusion

Chronic pain usually means failure of a tissue to repair itself and can lead to lower quality of life. There are many treatment options available that are safe and effective and that can be combined with physiotherapy or chiropractic treatment techniques. When possible, exploring all your treatment options from least to greatest risk is what I advise for managing musculoskeletal conditions.

Solid Hardwood VS Engineered Hardwood

Solid wood flooring is 100% hardwood milled from lumber. As a natural material, hardwood reacts to changes in its setting, like moisture and extreme temperatures, which cause solid wood to shrink or expand. All solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished if needed over the years. Solid hardwood is not recommended for installation below ground level or in bathrooms.

Engineered wood flooring is built up of layers of wood. It consists of three to ten layers, called plies, that are glued together. This multi-ply structure gives engineered wood superior stability, greater than solid wood, which reduces concerns associated with shrinking and expanding when temperature and humidity change. Engineered wood can be installed below ground level making it a great choice for finished basements.

A good night sleep is a necessity, especially for babies and young children, at this key stage of their development. Choosing the best cot is not enough a mattress, which offers comfort and resilience, can provide healthy, properly supported sleep. Nowadays there are plenty of baby mattresses with so many options on the market that this abundance can make your head get really spinning. Usually if you buy a new baby cot for your nursery it typically goes with a mattress. But there are some situations when you are to choose the mattress by yourself. In this case you have to know much about this kind of beddings to make the right choice.

The main things you should know

In spite of the fact that all baby mattresses are designed and crafted with your comfort in mind. There are still three basic principles to be guided while getting a mattress for your little one: first it should be new, otherwise non-observance of this denies the two following principals. Secondly the mattress should fit snugly the baby cot and there should be no gaps in order not to allow the wiggling baby get trapped between. To choose such a mattress do not rely on your good eye you should know exactly the size of the baby cot.

Third important criterion is that it should be firm enough to give the needed and adequate support to the baby, because the firmness of the mattresses influences deeply the baby's back and neck development.

Mattress types

Foam mattresses are considered to be the cheapest but it does not mean that this type of a mattress is not good for your baby. As they are made of high density foam and some of them even meet the highest safety standards these mattresses can provide your baby the necessary comfort and support. Having different degrees of ventilation, they encourage lots of air to circulate and allow any moisture in the mattress to disperse. Fibre mattresses are very comfortable and resilient. They are usually filled with the natural fibres from the coconut which are bound together with natural latex and then layered between foam. Moreover they are self-ventilating and breathable. However this style of mattress can be not the best choice for children with allergies or asthma symptoms in spite of the fact that they are considered to be hypoallergenic.

The spring mattress is the most durable of all types of mattresses. It is very much alike your own sprung mattress and is made from coil springs which provide posture, support and durability. Such type of mattresses is also fully breathable because it offers excellent air flow that is very good to reduce the risk of overheating.

Pocket Sprung mattress can give your baby maximum support, the springs work independently of each otherFree Articles, this important quality prevent indentations and increases comfort as each spring responds individually to your child's sleeping position. That type is considered to be perfect to get a good night's sleep.
